Seine Frau Sandra Tavares de Silva ist außerdem Önologin bei Quinta vale Donna Maria, ebenfalls einer der besten Abfülleren Portugals. Von diesen Ports wird man in Zukunft noch viel hören und lesen!!! Extrem extrahiert, super dicht, schwarz in der Farbe und mit entsprechender Luftzufuhr außergewöhnlich vielschichtig!!! Eigentlich noch mindestens 20 Jahre warten ... und unglaublich viel Freude bekommen!!! Ein verborgener Schatz für die Zukunft!!!

Parker: The 2005 Pintas Vintage Port is a field blend from very old vines (some 80 years or so) coming in at 110 grams per liter of residual sugar. One of the first three Ports in this vertical, this has no problem with power but it lacks some concentration. That said, its structure is equal or superior to either of its predecessors and its mid-palate finesse is appealing. Its freshness and its finish allow it to seem special at times. My only quibble was the modest concentration. Yet the next day it had put on weight and showed a long finish laced with chocolate and herbs. I came to like this a lot. Its somewhat backward nature on opening requires that it have a bit more cellaring for best results. You can approach it if you give it a couple of hours of air but it probably is better to hold it another five years or so. It should age very well, the only question being whether the mid-palate will keep up with the power. I suspect it will be fine.
