Beautiful tropical floral orchid print day dress from San Francisco designer Karen Alexander, who made wonderful 30's and 40's inspired clothing in the 1980s.

This is a Karen Alexander Sample dress.

Gorgeous medium weight woven rayon tropical floral print in shades of blue, green and purple as pictured.

The sleeves are cut as part of the bodice.

Notched collar with triple decorative top stitching.

Karen Alexander signature loose fitting bodice with a 8" wide inset double breasted front cummerbund which fastens with six black lucite buttons.

The bodice back features a 2-3/4" shoulder yoke and a 2" wide smocked elastic waistband as pictured.

Comes with it's original double layered self fabric belt with silver tone metal slide buckle.

Gorgeous skirt is fitted through the hips with eight triangular godets inset approximately 18" from the bottom of the ankle length skirt creating a lovely flaring trumpet skirt.

Unlined. No pockets.

A gorgeous dress to wear from now through Fall.

CONDITION: Excellent ~ There are no odors, discoloration, fading, stains, snags, or picks. The shoulder pads are missing.

SIZING: Tagged a vintage size 8. However, as size designations have changed over the years and based on the measurements below, I'd say this would best fit a modern size Small to Extra Small (S to XS).

MEASUREMENTS:

Shoulders/Sleeves: 28" Across End to End

Bust: 37" (made to be worn loose in the bodice)

Waist: 26" relaxed to 28" stretched comfortably

Hips: 37"

Skirt Bottom Sweep: 192" Around

Bodice Length: 18" - Center Back to Back Waist Seam

Skirt Length: 39" ~ Waist Seam to Skirt Hem

Belt: 35" long end to end and 2-1/2" wide
