Our Natural Canadian Lichen Moss is a hand-harvested lichen collected from pristine, forested regions of Canada. Known for its silvery-green hue and intricate, branching texture, this lichen adds sculptural beauty to terrariums, crafts, floral displays, and natural design projects.
• Rehydrate: Soak in clean, non-chlorinated water for 10–20 minutes or mist generously.
• Set in Place: Let it drain fully, then place in a humid environment with indirect light.
• Maintain Moisture: Mist regularly to retain softness and natural form.
Each 6 x 6 inch square is alive, but arrives in a dormant state, meaning: it may look dry at first, but with moisture and care, it softens, regains its color, and springs back to life. This makes it perfect for enclosed environments like terrariums or other low-light, humidity-rich setups.
Whether you're designing a moss bowl, building a terrarium, or adding texture to your next DIY project, this Canadian lichen moss brings a natural, sculptural beauty that’s hard to match.

Please note that due to logistical process, this moss will be shipped separately from our other products.

For best results, please ensure the following conditions are met before installation:
Acidic Soil – Moss thrives in acidic environments. Prepare the ground with rotting wood, pine needles, decaying leaves, or an acidifying garden product.
Shade – Moss requires consistent shade and protection from direct sunlight. Dappled woodland shade, north-facing areas, or spaces beneath tree canopies are ideal. Full sun will stress or kill moss.
Moisture & Irrigation – Moss needs a consistent water source, especially while establishing. An irrigation system, misting setup, or regular hand watering will help maintain humidity and prevent drying out.
A great way to know if your location is right for moss: if moss is already growing naturally in the area, your moss garden will likely do well.
Keep moss consistently moist during the first 6–12 months while it establishes. Avoid letting it dry out completely.
Water daily in the beginning, then reduce to a few times a week once moss begins attaching.
Limit foot traffic until moss is firmly attached to the substrate.
Add more pine needles or organic matter seasonally to maintain acidity.
Remove fallen debris that may smother growth, but leave some natural organic matter for ongoing soil conditioning.
With proper care in the first year, moss will root securely and spread naturally, creating a lush, low-maintenance carpet.
This is a live plant product. Each order is harvested to maintain freshness and shipped with great care.
Due to the nature of live plants, all orders are final sale. We cannot accept returns or offer refunds once shipped.
