NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety – Online (Instructor-led)

This live online NEBOSH General Certificate is delivered by a tutor via video conferencing, giving delegates the same recognised qualification as the classroom course without the need to travel. The course covers two assessed units, NG1 and NG2, and is suitable for managers, supervisors and anyone moving into a health and safety role.

Course Delivery

Course Content

NG1 – Management of Health and Safety

• The moral, legal and financial case for managing health and safety
• Health and safety management systems, policy and organising for safety
• Promoting a positive health and safety culture
• Risk assessment and principles of control
• Monitoring, reviewing and investigating incidents

NG2 – Controlling Workplace Hazards

• Movement of people and vehicles
• Manual and mechanical handling
• Work equipment hazards and controls
• Electrical safety
• Fire safety and emergency arrangements
• Chemical and biological agents
• Physical and psychological health hazards

As with the classroom course, delegates complete the NG2 practical risk assessment project after the taught sessions have finished.

Course Duration

Depending on the date booked, this course is delivered either as a day release programme over several weeks or as two concentrated teaching weeks, followed by the NEBOSH Open Book Exam, completed within 24 hours.

Assessment

Delegates sit an open book exam covering NG1 and NG2, plus a practical risk assessment assignment carried out in their own workplace.

Certification

Successful candidates receive the NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, recognised by employers in the UK and internationally, and supporting progression to Technician membership (TechIOSH) of IOSH.
