The Apollo was a music venue at 126 Renfield Street in Glasgow city centre, Scotland. It operated from 5 September 1973 until closure on 16 June 1985 and was Glasgow's leading music venue during this period. The Apollo was a re-brand of the previous Green's Playhouse in the same building. The legendary Thin Lizzy brought their Johnny The Fox UK Tour to the Apollo on Saturday 30th October 1976, supported by Clover. All 25 dates on the tour sold out completely. This was the first time our good friend and Thin Lizzy fanatic Phil Osborne got to see them live, he said: "They blew me away. Philip was mesmerising; all dressed in black; when not singing he was prowling the stage, side to side, stooping down and raising his fist to the audience. I was only sixteen and my life had changed forever." How could we not produce a t-shirt for that? The extra image we've included is Phil's ticket stub for this gig, and the trophy given to him by Philomena Lynott that was awarded to the band for their last ever, and yet another, sell out show at the Apollo on 19th March 1983.
