This is an organic folk-method tincture, hand-crafted extract from the berries of the Elder tree (Sambucus nigra).

Elderberry has a long history of traditional use in Western herbal practice as a supportive herb during the cooler months and times of seasonal challenge. It is valued for its naturally occurring antioxidants and plant compounds that help support the body’s natural immune defences and overall vitality.

This is a concentrated extract rather than a syrup, making it more potent and fast-absorbing, with a less sweet, more herbaceous flavour profile.

Not everyone loves the taste of a tincture, as it can be slightly bitter or “spicy” to some. If you or your children prefer a milder flavour, it can be diluted in a small amount of water or added to juice.

Traditionally, tinctures are taken sublingually (under the tongue) to allow for rapid absorption.

Our extracts are packaged in light-resistant amber bottles and should be stored in a cool, dry place. When stored correctly, they typically maintain their quality and potency for 3 years or more from the date of manufacture.
