This premium pear liqueur uses the legendary French Le Lectier pear grown in its adopted home of Niigata prefecture, combined with a sweet sake base produced by Fukugao sake brewery in Sanjo city. The result is a rich, velvety textured pear fruit liqueur with enticing, perfumed aroma of pear and a deep, delicious flavour. Surprisingly the liqueur has no added sugar and leaves a clean impression without any excessive sweetness.

Le Lectier pears are known as the “phantom” pear because they are difficult to cultivate and are rarely grown in Japan. They are only available for a short period from late November to late December. After picking from the tree, the pears require about 40 days of controlled ripening so the fruit can mature to peak condition. The large fruit are characterised by elegant fragrance, richness of flavour and well-balanced sweetness and acidity with ‘melt in your mouth’ softness. A much-prized delicacy which is celebrated in this fine fruit liqueur.
