Solera is the name given to traditional sherry production. A fraction of each young cask is blended with older casks, so that every sherry always contains a portion of the first cask.

The Starward Solera therefore contains a touch of the distillery's very first barrel. The single malt was stored in Apera wine barrels from the “McWilliams” winery, an Australian fortified wine. This results in the typical sherry notes in this malt. The Starward Solera is bottled with 43.0% vol.

Aroma: Tropical fruits combined with toffee & vanilla.

Taste: Full-bodied with fine sweetness, roasted toffee, bananas, crème brûlée and exotic spices.

Finish: Long-lasting with dark fruits and spicy oak notes as well as exotic spices.
