Loose fitting clothing is best. Shoulders should be covered, skirts and dresses should dover the knee but longer is best. Avoid wearing tight fitting, revealing and sheer clothing. Shawls, cardigans and scarves are great to have on hand. Remember, people dress much more conservative in this part of the world.

HOW MANY SEASONS DO ISRAEL AND JORDAN HAVE?

It is important to note that there are only two distinct seasons. A cool, rainy Winter (October - April) and a dry, hot summer (May - September).

The Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish, shortened to the Church of the Multiplication, is a Roman Catholic church located at Tabgha, on the northwest shore of the Sea of Galilee in Israel. The modern church rests on the site of two earlier churches

7. 9:10 AM - Cafarnaúm 

Capernaum was a fishing village established during the time of the Hasmoneans, located on the northern shore of the Sea of Galilee. It had a population of about 1,500. Archaeological excavations have revealed two ancient synagogues built one over the other.

9. Church of the Annunciation 

The Church of the Annunciation, sometimes also referred to as the Basilica of the Annunciation, is a Catholic church in Nazareth, in northern Israel.

10. Cana de Galilea 

Cana of Galilee is the location of the Wedding at Cana, at which the miracle of turning water into wine took place in the Gospel of John. The location is disputed, with the four primary locations being Kafr Kanna, Khirbet Qana and Reineh in Lower Galilee and Qana in Upper Galilee

Nazareth is a city in Israel with biblical history. In the old city, the domed Basilica of the Annunciation is, some believe, where the angel Gabriel told Mary she would bear a child. St. Joseph’s Church is said to be the site of Joseph’s carpentry workshop. The underground Synagogue Church is reputedly where Jesus studied and prayed. Nazareth Village, an open-air museum, reconstructs daily life in Jesus’ era.

Bethlehem is a Palestinian town south of Jerusalem in the West Bank. The biblical birthplace of Jesus, it’s a major Christian pilgrimage destination. The birth is marked by an inlaid silver star in a grotto under the 6th-century Church of the Nativity, which shares Manger Square with the 15th-century Church of St. Catherine and the 1860 Mosque of Omar.

The Church of the Nativity, or Basilica of the Nativity, is a basilica located in Bethlehem in the State of Palestine, in the West Bank. The grotto holds a prominent religious significance to Christians of various denominations as the birthplace of Jesus.

3. Transfer to Tiberias 

Tiberias is an Israeli city on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee. Its Old City holds important Jewish and Christian pilgrimage sites including the Tomb of Maimonides and Abulafia (Etz Chaim) Synagogue. The waterfront features the restaurant-lined Yigal Allon Promenade, a marina and a fish market. South of the city, Hamat Tiberias National Park is home to famed mineral hot springs dating to antiquity.

4. Santo Sepulcro 

The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, or Church of the Resurrection, is a church in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. It is considered to be the holiest site for Christians in the world, as it has been the most important pilgrimage site for Christianity since the 4th century

5. Via Dolorosa 

The Via Dolorosa is a processional route in the Old City of Jerusalem. It represents the path that Jesus would have taken, forced by the Roman soldiers, on the way to his crucifixion

7. Jewish Quarter 

The hilltop Jewish Quarter is a small neighborhood known for ancient landmarks such as the Western Wall, a holy Jewish site from the 1st century. Restaurants are set near historic places of worship like the reconstructed Hurva and Ramban synagogues, while museums such as Siebenberg House showcase relics from King David's reign. Shops line the colonnaded Cardo Maximus, a street from Roman and Byzantine times.

8. Wall of Lamentaciones 

The Western Wall, known in the West as the Wailing Wall, and in Islam as the Buraq Wall, is a portion of ancient limestone wall in the Old City of Jerusalem that forms part of the larger retaining wall of the hill known to Jews and Christians as the Temple Mount.

9. Cenaculo 

The Cenacle, also known as the Upper Room, is a room in Mount Zion in Jerusalem, just outside the Old City walls, traditionally held to be the site of the Last Supper, the final meal that, in the Gospel accounts, Jesus held with the apostles.

10. Tomb of David 

David's Tomb is one of the most sacred sites you can visit while arriving at Mount Zion.

11. Assumption of Mary 

The Assumption of Mary is one of the four Marian dogmas of the Catholic Church.

13. Door De Yafo 

Marks the end of the road that led to Jerusalem from the ancient port of Jaffa and the beginning of one of two major axes that divide the Old City into four quarters.

The Mount of Olives in Jerusalem is an important landmark, located next to the Old City of Jerusalem. This refers to the ridge located east of the Old City.

The Church of the Agony is also called the “Church of All Nations” but is in fact better known simply as Gethsemane. It is the sanctuary preserving the bare rock on which Jesus' agony is commemorated.

17. Jewish Cemetery 

The Jewish Cemetery on the Mount of Olives is the oldest and most important Jewish cemetery in Jerusalem.

18. Tomb of the Virgin 

Church of the Sepulchre of Saint Mary, also Tomb of the Virgin Mary, is a Christian tomb in the Kidron Valley – at the foot of Mount of Olives, in Jerusalem – believed by Eastern Christians to be the burial place of Mary, the mother of Jesus.

The kiss of Judas, also known as the Betrayal of Christ, is the act with which Judas identified Jesus to the multitude with swords and clubs who had come from the chief priests and elders of the people to arrest him.

2. Head to Dead Sea 

The Dead Sea, also known by other names, is a salt lake bordered by Jordan to the east and the West Bank and Israel to the west. It lies in the Jordan Rift Valley, and its main tributary is the Jordan River.

3. Jordan River 

The Jordan River or River Jordan, also known as Nahr Al-Sharieat, is a 251-kilometre-long river in the Middle East that flows roughly north to south through the Sea of Galilee and on to the Dead Sea. Jordan and the Golan Heights border the river to the east, while the West Bank and Israel lie to its west.

4. Baptism of Jesus Christ 

The baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist is a major event in the life of Jesus which is described in the three synoptic Gospels of the New Testament, in which John baptized Jesus with water and laying on of hands to fulfill all righteousness.

5. Jericho 

Jericho is a Palestinian city in the West Bank. It is located in the Jordan Valley, with the Jordan River to the east and Jerusalem to the west.

The Guide will have an orange sign with the nam of the group on it. The transfer will be 10 minutes. The guide will assist with the formal entry procedures for the visa. The process may take 1-2 hours.

10. Transfer to Bethany 

30 Minute transfer. The visit includes a tour inside the baptism site and the Orthodox church.

11. Baptismal Site visit 

You can touch the water of the river and take some if needed (please note that there are no group baptisms or submersions in the river on the Jordanian side). If requested, the guide can arrange for a priest in the church to offer a blessing by sprinkling water on the group (please note that the presence of a priest is not guaranteed).

12. Transfer to Petra 

3 Hours and 30 minutes.

DAY 6 ITINERARY

Today will be the most exciting day of the trip. First thing in the morning we will visit the impressive archaeological site of Petra, known as one of the 7 Wonders of the World. We will access Petra through a narrow canyon and discover temples and tombs carved into cliffs that form to be a city. This city was founded 300 years before the coming of Jesus Christ.

DAY 7 ITINERARY

We will start the day by heading to the stunning Wadi Rum desert. At the visitor center we will take ATVs to see some of the most impressive scenery. We will stop at the town of Rum where we will see the ruins of the Nabataean temples. We will continue visiting the Khazali Canyon and the Lawrence Spring. In these spectacular places we will see the engravings that show the origin of the Arabic language. Dinner is included and accommodation is provided at the desert camp.
