Silver Filigree work also known as "Tarakashi",  is an age old art form, believed to be brought to India by the Mughals.  The process of making the art piece is quite elaborate.  First, silver blocks are melted to make wires of different thickness. The outer frame of a piece is made by a thicker wire and foil, which is then filled with intricate patterns and designs using thinner and twisted wires.  Smaller pieces are soldered together to make a final product.  Once the piece is ready, it is washed with dilute acid and polished to bring out the beauty of the exquisite piece of art or jewelry.  This silver filigree set of dainty floral pendant and leaf shaped earrings, with its intricate jali work, is a testimonial to the skills of our artisans.  It is ideal for daily wear or at a traditional ceremony.
