Ron Harbeck’s work is dreamlike. Washed in pastel light, he envisions a grand tree - the home of possums, lizards, spiders, koalas, bees and birds. Also, it’s ‘Where the Crimson Parrot Call’. This tree fills the frame, its lace-like branches a lifeforce for many. Like a portrait of a human, Harbeck treats his subject as a worthy subject.
Harbeck is an accomplished printmaker. An edition of this work is represented at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra. For connoisseurs of prints and unusual landscape art, this work is a wonderful find.
