This sweet and charming ring may be small in size but knocks it out of the park in style and drama. A late Victorian head, likely from a stickpin or brooch, sits atop a simple band in a conversion that makes this a comfortable and easy-to-wear ring in a fetching retro style. Though they've been around since the late 1800s, bombe rings peaked in popularity in the 1930s and 1940s. This ring provides a more delicate counterpart to what was typically a very voluminous style.
18 natural turquoise cabochons surround a single bright diamond. As turquoise is a porous stone, there is some variation in the colour of the cabs, including a single green-toned stone that adds extra personality. There is some natural patina in the silver top of the dome, and at the solder joints, as well a visible past sizing and file marks inside the shank. None of these factors detract from the look of the ring while worn but have been considered as part of the piece's overall condition.
