A Geometric Paradox Meets Card Magic

Missing Piece is a portable, pocket-sized illusion that fuses a legendary geometric puzzle principle by Paul Curry with a hard-hitting card effect.

Tomas Blomberg, in Blomberg Laboratories, published a remarkable interpretation of Paul Curry’s legendary puzzle, using a large uncut sheet of playing cards. With Blomberg’s permission, Kun Hang and TCC designed Missing Piece to be more practical and portable: a pocket-sized illusion.

You begin by introducing a prediction envelope and a set of puzzle pieces that, when assembled, form the back design of a deck of cards. A spectator selects a card, which then impossibly vanishes from the physical deck.

Attention returns to the puzzle. You flip the pieces over and reassemble them, only to discover that the spectator's card has vanished from the puzzle image as well. Finally, the prediction envelope is opened to reveal both the missing playing card and the missing puzzle piece.

Both the front and back of the puzzle have been meticulously engineered. Every dimension is calculated to perfection, ensuring the geometric principle works invisibly and deceptively.
