carries deep meaning woven within the piece, but it is also very similar to the
Oushak rug is in a painting from 1876, 'Portrait of Dr. John Brinton' by Thomas
Eakins. The vintage Turkish Oushak rug features three columns of Herati style
medallions, serrated palmettes and amulets filled with diamonds and cruciform
motifs in an alternating pattern on a vibrant red field. The red Oushak rug is
enclosed with a rosette border flanked by subsidiary guard bands of ribbons and
zigzag lines. Featuring rich waves of abrash, bold colors and an intricate
geometric pattern, this gorgeous Oushak rug is full of character and brings an
artistic impact to complement traditional, modern and formal interiors.
Rendered in variegated shades of ruby red, scarlet red, green, cerulean, sky
