Description

Emla 5% Cream is a topical anaesthetic formulated to numb the skin ahead of procedures such as needle insertion, IV catheter placement, blood tests, minor skin surgery, or the cleaning and debridement of leg ulcers. It provides effective local pain relief to make these procedures more comfortable.

Ingredients

Lignocaine 25mg/g

Prilocaine 25mg/g

Directions

Ensure the area of skin is clean and dry before application.

Apply a sufficient amount of cream directly to the procedure site without spreading it out.

For adult needle procedures, use approximately 2g (half of a 5g tube).

After the required time, wipe off the cream and cleanse the area with alcohol.

Warnings

Always read the label and use only as directed.

Keep out of reach of children.

For external use only. Do not ingest.

If irritation develops, discontinue use and seek medical advice.

Avoid use near the eyes or on broken skin.

Do not apply over large areas unless advised by a healthcare professional.
