Beautiful vintage French love token, in a delightful ring version. Created by Alphonse Augis and inspired by a letter poet Rosemonde Gérard wrote to her husband, the writer Edmond Rostand, the medallion features a rebus reading "+ qu'hier - que demain" for the lines,

"Car, vois-tu, chaque jour je t'aime davantage,
Aujourd'hui plus qu'hier et bien moins que demain."

(For, you see, each day I love you more,
Today more than yesterday and less than tomorrow.)

The beautiful sentiment lends itself perfectly to a lover, a child, or a friend - on anniversaries, birthdays, or simply any day. We also love this piece as an engagement ring placeholder for the couple looking to choose a ring together (or as the standalone engagement ring itself!), or a special gift on your wedding day.

This particular piece is unique among many we've seen, in that the ring mount appears to be original to the medallion, stamped not only with the French eagle's head hallmark for 18k, but the Augis trademark as well.
