This hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish
Oushak rug features a large scalloped diamond-shaped medallion with palmette
pendants floating in the center of an abrashed brick red field. Small flowers
sprout forth from the edges of the medallion and spandrels into the field,
adding a touch of romance and whimsy to the composition. A network a scrolling
floral vines decorate the corner spandrels, echoing the vinery from within the
medallion. Accompanied by a delicate carnation meander guard border, the main
border features a floral meander design of large open blossoms and partly
closed palmettes. With its sweet floral designs and limited color palette based
around soft shades of reds, grays, creams and light pinks, this versatile
vintage Oushak rug would bring style and grace to any interior.
