Background: Non-signaling receptor for IL1A, IL1B and IL1RN. ReducesIL1B activities. Serves as a decoy receptor by competetive bindingto IL1B and preventing its binding to IL1R1. Also modulatescellular response through non-signaling association with IL1RAPafter binding to IL1B. IL1R2 (membrane and secreted forms)preferentially binds IL1B and poorly IL1A and IL1RN. The secretedIL1R2 recruits secreted IL1RAP with high affinity; this complexformation may be the dominant mechanism for neutralization of IL1Bby secreted/soluble receptors.

Purification and Purity: The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity-chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen and the purity is > 95% (by SDS-PAGE).

Storage and Stability: Store at 4°C short term. Aliquot and store at -20°C long term. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.

Specificity: IL1R2 polyclonal antibody detects endogenous levels of IL1R2 protein.
