The Panasonic CX-493 (Part No. UCX493) is a high-precision retroreflective photoelectric sensor, engineered for stable and reliable object detection over distances up to 5 meters (16.404 ft) when used with the RF-230 reflector. Optimized for opaque or translucent objects ≥ Ø50 mm, this sensor delivers exceptional accuracy with 0.5 mm repeatability and a 1 ms or faster response time. With a NPN open-collector output, the unit allows for flexible integration via Light-ON or Dark-ON selectable modes and includes short-circuit protection for safe operation.

Built to withstand demanding industrial conditions, the CX-493 features IP67-rated protection, shock resistance up to 50 G, and vibration resistance across all axes. It incorporates helpful diagnostics with orange and green LED indicators for operation and stability, while the continuously adjustable sensitivity ensures optimal setup.
