Mysterious and moody, this cute vintage ring features deep blue marquise cut sapphires with little diamonds sprinkled between them. The marquise cut dates back to c. 1745 Paris, designed for King Louis XV, who requested a diamond in the shape of his mistress' smile. The stone has inspired designers (and frustrated stone setters) ever since, reaching peak popularity in the Art Deco era and from the 1950s-1980s. She appears to be making a ferocious comeback, unseating the oval and then pear shapes for those in search of a unique and flattering alternative to a classic round brilliant.

A slim band makes the ring comfortable between the fingers, while the classic 1980s-1990s height gives it presence on the hand. The diamonds aren't the biggest or the clearest, but they definitely add a little sparkly detail.
