The book includes comments from the director, animation director, and other staff members, focusing on the original drawings of the main series, and allows readers to enjoy the behind-the-scenes of the Puella Magi Madoka Magica series. Each volume has a cover drawn by the chief animation director, Junichiro Taniguchi. It also includes original illustrations by the Gekidan Inu Curry troupe, based on the theme of the episodes included. Vol. 3 is the "Sayaka Edition," which includes episodes 4, 5, and 6.
