A delightful miniature take on delightful miniatures, this wee charm is modelled as a ship in a bottle. Otherwise known as "impossible bottles," known for featuring an object that by all appearances should not be able to fit inside their glass housings, bottled ships date back at least to the 18th century but peaked in popularity in the late 19th century. This particular rendition is a little more suggestive than exact in the form of its ship, but remains an iconic nod to cleverness and engineering.
Fair vintage condition with wear in line with age and use, including a small chip to bottle neck that is easily hidden by the gold rim. Originally manufactured in the UK.
