CITB SMSTS Course for Site Managers and Construction Professionals

The CITB Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is a comprehensive five-day course designed for construction professionals responsible for managing health and safety on site. It provides a detailed understanding of current legislation and equips delegates with the knowledge required to effectively plan, organise and monitor safe working practices across construction projects.

The course focuses on developing awareness of legal responsibilities, risk management and the implementation of control measures to maintain a safe and compliant working environment. Delegates will gain practical insight into how health and safety contributes to site efficiency, productivity and overall project success.

Training is delivered through a combination of classroom-based learning, interactive discussions and case-based scenarios, followed by a multiple-choice assessment. Key topics include health and safety law, risk assessments and method statements, site set-up, communication and leadership, accident prevention, and the safe management of workplace hazards such as working at height, plant operations and hazardous substances.

This course is ideal for site managers, project managers, supervisors and anyone responsible for planning, organising or controlling construction work-forces.
