400 Conejos Mezcal Artesanal Joven OAXACA

According to the Mesoamerican ancestral worship, the priests were the only ones who could establish a channel of communication with the gods. To achieve it, they practiced ritual drinking of spirits made from agave. Such drinks were exclusively for religious ceremonies and for the old men in the lofty sector of society. The gods of the drinks ere called collectively centzon-totochtin in Nahuatl (400 rabbits). The number 400 was synonymous of innumerable and uncountable. It was believed that the spirit of the four hundred rabbits carries on to this day in each bottle of this fine mezcal.
