Inspiration:
The journey leads to XinHui, home of aged tangerine peel in Chinese medicine. Fruit is harvested at the precise season, its peel opened carefully by hand. Each piece is gently turned inside out, then laid beneath the sun for weeks, left to breathe with light and air.

Years pass. The peel deepens in color, its sharp brightness slowly softening. True XinHui aged tangerine peel requires 8-15 years to mature. What was once vivid citrus becomes calm. What was once food becomes medicine. When I smell it now, there is still citrus, but also dust, resin, incense, and memory.
