Description

The Shapton Glass Stone Set gives you a complete three-stone honing progression in one purchase. The 1000 HR handles first-phase honing — removing micro-chips, setting the bevel and addressing any damage to the edge. The 3000 HR refines the bevel and removes the scratch pattern left by the coarser stone. The 8000 HC brings the edge to a polished, shave-ready finish — the HC series being particularly well suited to high carbon steel and straight razors. All three stones share Shapton's ceramic cutting media construction and require no soaking. The portable field case stores all three securely and converts into a practical stone holder when sharpening.

How to Use: Work through the stones in progression — 1000 first to establish the bevel, 3000 to refine, then 8000 to finish. Splash each stone with water before use. Strop thoroughly after honing.
