Our organic matcha tea comes from Nishio, one of the oldest tea-growing regions in the world and the heart of matcha production. Only a few dozen tea farmers master the elaborate production of this ancient tea variety. The tea bushes are shaded with bamboo mats or nets four weeks before harvest. This ensures increased chlorophyll production and gives the tea leaves their vibrant green color and fresh, slightly sweet flavor. By processing the whole leaves, the valuable ingredients, such as carotene, vitamins A, B, C, and E, as well as antioxidants, can fully develop.
