BOATS - For repairing fibreglass and plywood boats. Ideal for covering transom edges and for binding split or damaged spars, booms, spinnaker poles and oars. Rot proof and unaffected by marine growth, worms and borers.

SURFBOARDS – For the repair of all types of surfboards, water skis ect.

HOME – For repairing metal roofs, guttering and tiles, water tanks, fibro sheeting and roofing, sheep dips, water troughs, fibreglass furniture ect.

CARS & CARAVANS – For repairing rusted panels filling holes, dents ect. Completely waterproof and weather resistant.

Features:

Strand-chopped fibreglass matting for reinforcement. Completely waterproof and weather resistant. 

1. Prepare the surface, sand in and around the area. Remove all dust and clean the area with acetone.

2. Cut the chopped strand mat to the required size and allow an extra centimetre around the edges. On tight curves, tear the mat to fit, adding extra pieces if needed. Put the mat on a clean surface until ready for use (e.g. newspaper).

3. Calculate the amount of catalyst (MEKP) required: on a warm day (warmer than 18 degrees) allow 1.5% whole on a cold day (cooler than 18 degrees) allow 2%. Do not mix more than you can use in 30 mins. 

For 200mls of resin on a warm day use 1.5% or 3mls

For 200mls of resin on a cold day us 2% or 4mls

Use the syringe to measure the amount required. 

4. Mix resin with catalyst using a stirring stick. 

5. Brush a thick coat of resin onto the surface and then position the fibreglass on top of the wet resin. Add

another coat of resin taking care not to displace the fibres. Dab it, do not brush it. Make sure that every part

of the fibreglass is ‘wet out’ thoroughly (with no air bubbles). Allow to saturate and use a roller to squeeze

the air out of the fibres. Clean up with acetone.

6. Leave to cure for 1 to 2 hours. 

NOTE: When using or working on virgin foam ensure the foam is sealed prior to use as application of fibreglass

(polyester) resin may dissolve the foam. Not suitable for epoxy surfboards.
