This whimsical charm features a girl mid-twirl, with a cleverly designed hula hoop fastened around her waist that allows it to endlessly spin and never fall. Though it didn't take the name "hula hoop" until the 20th century (the plastic toy version being invented in the 1950s and reigniting a fad), the practice has been around with natural materials for thousands of years.
