Strength & Malleability

Iron steel is a very tough and resilient metal, which is less malleable and elastic than aluminum. Iron steel has a higher amount of carbon contributing to its general strength advantages.

Maintenance Free

In most cases, a standard deck railing system with iron balusters requires less maintenance work, like repainting. They will only need occasional cleaning. (Detergent is not recommended, due to the corrosion to the coating.)

Corrosion Resistance Coating

All Myard iron steel balusters are powder coated with high standard of AAMA 2604 (American Architectural Manufacturers Association) compliant materials, having five times weather resistance of the outdoor exposure and twice the humidity exposure than AAMA 2603 has.

Weight Difference

Iron steel is much heavier / much denser than aluminum. Iron steel is typically 2.5 times denser than aluminum. Heavier weight, conceptually, stands for the feeling of safety, high-class and value. Such as home stair baluster, people usually prefer solid one rather than hollow one.
