The Big Ben pens were made, in Copenhagen, by Benco, a company started in 1922 as an importer of Eversharp pens. This button filling pen, made in the 1930s, bears a resemblance to Eversharp pens of that period, a result of the close relationship between the two companies.
At 16cm. posted this is a large, handsome pen, the finish is described as 'Paintbrush Green', a unique Big Ben colour. The clip, bearing the Big Ben name is heavily gold plated.
The pen has been restored and is in excellent working condition. The gilling system works well and the 14Ct. Gold Big Ben No. 43 nib writes with a smooth, medium line, perhaps a little on the fine side.
The Big Bens are undoubtedly of very high quality and has a good solid feel. They do not show up often in the U.K. and are becoming quite collectable.
