The resulting wine is a split screen of bright acidity and some darker tones from the older base wine. Red currants and strawberries are prominent on the palate and the typical richness of Montepulciano shows as a kind of added layer of succulence and deliciousness without making the wine heavy.

100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Mostly red wine from most recent previous vintage, blended with some fresh, free-run early-harvest juice of the current vintage. Spontaneous fermentation. Aged in stainless steel tanks until bottling in the Spring. No filtering or fining.
