Stamazene is a concentrated electrolyte solution to supplement diets where levels may be low. The loss of electrolytes during strenuous exercise must be replaced in the diet to help restore normal levels, to assist in maintaining metabolic functions and electrolyte balance within body tissues.

Nervousness can also be a contributor to electrolyte requirements, even under normal climatic conditions.
