Quilters Select Sticky TearAway 15" x 10 yds

Quilters Select Sticky Tearaway is used with machine embroidery on items too small to be hooped or with textured fabrics that can be damaged during the hooping process resulting in hoop-burns. Perfect for velvet, corduroy, linen or leather. One layer will support approximately 10,000 embroidery stitches that are properly digitized. For heavier or poorly digitized designs combine with one layer of Quilters Select Sticky Tearaway, cutting a piece the same size as the hoop and floating it underneath for added support.

Quilters Select Sticky Tearaway features a partially water-soluble tearaway foundation and a completely water-soluble adhesive. This makes the removal process easy, delicate stitches protected and fabrics are left soft and flexible.

To use:

1. Place Quilters Select Sticky Tearaway paper side up.
2. Use a straight pin to score the paper for removal, exposing the adhesive.
3. Place the item to be stitched over the adhesive; smooth into place.
4. When stitching is complete, gently tear away excess stabilizer from around the design.

For applique backgrounds/to build an applique:

1. Place Quilters Select Sticky Tearaway paper side up.
2. Use a straight pin to score the paper for removal, exposing the adhesive.
3. Place background fabrics/shapes in place over the adhesive. Smooth into place.
4. Stitch to secure the fabrics.
5. When stitching is complete, gently tear away excess stabilizer. A damp cloth may be placed over stabilizer to begin dissolving the stabilizer fibers. Remaining stabilizer will continue to wash away as the finished item is laundered.
