Jumping into Jeopardy explores the full gamut of challenges - and risks - jump jockeys face every time they compete in a race.

They have to combat the dangers of riding at speed over obstacles; the pressures of long hours' travelling, much of that in winter;  the prospect of serious injuries - or worse; control of their diet and weight, and the possibility of sudden, enforced retirement. So they need courage - in spades - stamina, patience, total dedication, the ability to cope with mulitple defeats, a deep sense of resolve, and of perspective, self-awareness, consistency... and luck.

Research for the book enabled the author to experience what lies behind the scenes of jump racing, the 'shadow side', to study the prism of its jockeys' lives and to chart their personal stories that have not been fully documented... until now.
