With tasteful embellishments of brass on the pure marble surface, this Charles X mantel clock is restrained and most attractive. The timepiece is distinctly architectural in form, a piece inspired by the classical Greek structures so revered during the period. The squared form is softened by the four-round tapering columns. The Roman numeral clock face is set inside a decorative brass bezel. This clock would make a distinct impression on a darker contrasting mantel or console table.
