With its standing habit and lustrous, deep green evergreen leaves, the camellia Ruby Wedding makes a wonderful anniversary gift. It blooms in profusion from mid-March to late-April and has tonnes of gorgeous, bright red blossoms with an amazing anemone-like centre.

Best cultivated in a wet soil in a position with sun or moderate shade, avoiding the early morning sun. This plant needs acidic soil because it is ericaceous, or acid-loving. It can be grown in a container using ericaceous compost if your soil is unsuitable.
