Chungudi saree or Madurai Sungudi is pure cotton fabric of Madurai in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, an exclusive textile creation traditionally crafted using tie and dye method by the Saurashtrians who migrated to Madurai under the patronage of King Thirumalai Naicker in the 17th century.
