Oushak Rug with Tribal Elements 05’10 x 10’02 From Esmaili Rugs Collection. This
unique hand-knotted wool vintage Turkish Oushak rug features an anchored
geometric medallion covered in tribal motifs rendered in contrasting shades of
cerulean and coffee. The central medallion and cruciform is surrounded with
symbols comprised of cubes, dotted with protective symbols. The large lozenge
is floating on a kinetic garden of stylized palmettes and meandering, angular
vines. The stair-step spandrels are filled with flowers, arrows and lozenges. A
series of borders create an ornate frame in this Oushak rug. A mirrored running
water band frames the field and the main border is a typical leaf and calyx
style (wine glass) border flanked with subsidiary guard bands. The subtle yet
contrasting palette and traditional design with tribal elements will add a
touch of exoticism and allure to nearly any modern living area. Hand knotted
