A rare stylized Kreg Scully piece of Sugilite and 22k gold and Australian Opal is elegant and earthy. Sugilite is a rare purple chalcedony from South Africa and Gem- Australian Opal play a marvelous dance of color and compliment on one another. Both are prized for their rarity and vibrant colors. The late Kreg Scully found both materials to be fascinating and entrancing to work with as noted by him in Gems and Pedals News. Kreg was among the talented group known as the North American Gem Carvers Association. He was most well-known, some might say even famous, for his stunning Opal inlays. This one-of-a-kind piece can never be replicated by his hand and is among the treasured few pieces still available.
