A rare Singapore Exclusive from Mars (shinshu). Mars are known for very rich & complex flavours in their whisky with a very strict criteria for what they release in the form of single casks. Mars Komagatake Single Cask #1855 Heavily Peated 2014. This heavily peated Mars was distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2017 at the Shinshu distillery after maturing in a single American White Oak cask #1855. One of 578 bottles.

TASTING NOTES

Nose: initially a moderate level of peat and wood smoke, more toast, some vanilla. After some time, the peat and simple smoke take a back seat.

Palate: like whole chestnuts in water residue, Chinese medicine, a little bit like pickled vegetables, the back palate is a little sweet and gets sweeter with time.

Finish: short to medium, abv lingers.
