Elegant exquisitely handmade carved walnut French commode from the 18th century. Featuring a carved ripple front with hand carved shell pulls that are part of the body, this chest of drawers is rarely found. The intricately carved body has two spacious drawers, with early gorgeous brass escutcheons framed with carved sunflowers; all carvings are framed in paneling. Each side is also styled with two dome panels; so well done! The piece features gorgeous brass hardware as well. The back gives away its age; it has been beautifully restored at some point but the back beautifully depicts the fine hand craftsmanship. Could also serve as a stunning side table in a living room. This French commode, bought in Paris, France, would have been a custom made piece and is unusual to find.
