The CP Thornton Contoured Legend is a beautifully handcrafted guitar that blends vintage character with modern craftsmanship. Built with a Basswood body and carved top, it delivers a warm, balanced tone with smooth mids and a clear, articulate voice. Basswood is prized for its light weight, natural resonance, and ability to let pickups shine without adding harsh overtones, making it an ideal platform for this versatile and expressive guitar.

The neck is made from torrefied Rock Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard and features a Les Paul–style U carve that measures .870 to .970 inches, offering a substantial yet comfortable feel that players who love a classic, full grip will appreciate. With a 24 ¾ inch scale length, a 1 11/16 inch nut width, and a 12 inch fingerboard radius, the Contoured Legend plays fast and smooth, with easy bends and effortless chord work.

At the heart of this guitar are Ron Ellis Ellisonic pickups, a brilliant take on the classic Dynasonic design, but with a twist. They have the growl and midrange of a great vintage P-90 delivering chimey cleans with tons of clear low-end and a snappy attack with rich harmonic detail. They capture the vintage-inspired magic of the Dynasonic with the uniqueness, clarity, balance, and nuance that Ron Ellis is known for. (These are the same pickups as in the popular Collings 470 JL model, in a Humbucker size) Paired with a MojoAxe wraparound bridge and Gotoh staggered tuners, this guitar offers excellent sustain, precise intonation, and rock-solid tuning.

Finished in a stunning nitrocellulose Gold Top with a Sunset Bronze back, the Contoured Legend is as visually striking as it is sonically inspiring. Weighing just 7 pounds 1 and 3/8 ounces, it feels perfectly balanced whether onstage or in the studio. The EVO Gold .047 by .104 fret wire completes the premium build with durability and a smooth playing surface.
