Noel Rojas, owner and master blender of Rojas Cigars, began his journey in Cuba, where he developed a passion for Peruvian tobacco, believed to be the true birthplace of tobacco. Years later, he befriended Peruvian tobacco producer Gennaro Lettieri and secured an annual lot of his tobacco. With this, Rojas crafted a private blend, declaring to Brian Desind of Privada Cigar Club, “I do not sell this cigar; it is only for me.” In a rare agreement, Rojas allowed Privada Cigar Club members to receive one of these coveted cigars, Peruvian Gold, three years ago. After four years of aging, this exclusive 6x46 blend with a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper and fillers from Nicaragua and Peru is now available as July’s LCA release, crafted at the Rojas Cigar Factory in Nicaragua.
