WW2 U.S. Army Air Forces Corporal's OD Serge Wool Enlisted Service Dress Jacket W/ Patches Dated 1942 Named With Research

Here is a unique piece for your collection; a twice named and researched US Army Air Force service dress jacket with a ruptured duck patch, Army Air Forces Patch, and a Corporals patch on each sleeve. We managed to find one of the previous owners, Earl F. Baer, who was a WW2 U.S. Army Air Force Pilot. The other owner remains unknown to us as his information was crossed out, but Mr. Baer himself poses a great opportunity for additional research if desired. It is believed Mr. Baer was the first owner of this jacket as to be a pilot a soldier had to be at least a Lieutenant, but the jacket currently bears Corporal rank patches. Therefore it is believed the next owner after Mr. Baer was a corporal and had removed Mr. Baer's Lieutenant or higher rank patches and sewn on his own Corporal rank patches. This is only speculation and not confirmed, but additional research can be done as previously stated. Below is Mr. Baer's obituary;

"Earl F. Baer, 89, of Greenfield, passed away on Tuesday, Feb 14, 2012 at Sugar Creek Nursing Home. Earl was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Northeast Hancock County, the son of Walter and Beatrice Baer.

Earl was retired from Ford Motor Company. He was a WWII U.S. Air Force Pilot and belonged to the Greenfield American Legion."
