Unit History

The 12th Cavalry Regiment traces its lineage to 1901, with the 1st Battalion serving as a cornerstone of the 1st Cavalry Division — America’s premier air assault division. From the jungles of Vietnam to the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan, the 1-12 Cavalry has been at the tip of the spear.
