This mid 19th century hand forged copper kitchen workhorse is one of the finest and oldest tools in the French batterie de cuisine. Originally, when cooking over a hearth, the cook would fill this pot with meat and vegetables and nestle it among the embers to slow cook over time and meld the flavors into a delicious meat falling off the bone meal. When not in use for braising, we fill with ice for a conversation starting wine chiller.
