Maitake mushroom powder is made from the fruiting bodies of the Grifola frondosa mushroom, commonly known as "Maitake" or "Dancing Mushroom." Native to forests across Asia, Europe, and North America, Maitake grows in large, frilly clusters at the base of hardwood trees. The powder has a fine texture and a naturally earthy, woody flavor, making it an excellent addition to smoothies, soups, sauces, or savory dishes.

Traditionally, Maitake mushrooms have been valued for their rich heritage in culinary and herbal practices, prized for their nourishing and adaptogenic qualities.

Our farm partners have been growing and extracting mushrooms for 40+ years and mushroom powders simply do not get any better then this. In addition to taking steps to ensure purity and a high constituent content, we are also concerned about providing mushroom products in which the constituents are in a bioavailable form. The main constituents of mushrooms, the 1,3-Beta Glucans, are tightly bound to the cell walls and have a low degree of bioavailability in raw mushrooms.

To overcome this and increase the bioavailability of the constituents, all of our mushrooms undergo a steam activation process that breaks down the cell walls and frees the 1,3-Beta Glucans from the chitin.

Suggested Uses:

Stir 1–2 teaspoons into soups, stews, or smoothies.

Sprinkle over salads or blend into sauces for a boost of umami and nutrition.

As a tea: Add 2–4g (about 1 teaspoon) to hot water, steep, strain, and enjoy.
