A Mission That Changed History

Deployed to Saudi Arabia in the summer of 1990 as part of Operation Desert Shield, the Strike Brigade stood ready. When Desert Storm launched, the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) executed a deep strike into Iraq — establishing FOBs Cobra and Viper, severing Highway 8, and trapping Iraqi forces with nowhere to run.

The war ended in 100 hours. The Strike Brigade helped make that possible.
