Handcrafted by Khalid AlShafar, DUBAI JOURNEY is a unique collector’s piece that encapsulates the essence of Dubai's desert heritage. This Carrom board, designed with both aesthetic and functional aspects in mind, serves as a tribute to the rich culture of the UAE and AlShafar’s personal memories of playing Carrom with family and friends.

The board features a meticulously crafted marquetry surface illustrating camels crossing the vast sand dunes towards Dubai, the oasis of the Emirates. At the centre of this artistic design is the Arabic calligraphy “Dubai dar el hay,” meaning "Dubai is the home of the human being," the unofficial nickname for the city within its local community. This central motif is surrounded by designs inspired by aerial views of the desert, with camels converging from all corners towards the middle.

The edges of the board showcase the UAE flag and are framed in teak, a wood historically used in the construction of UAE dhows, enhancing the board's cultural authenticity. Conforming to international Carrom standards, DUBAI JOURNEY is not only a remarkable piece of art but also a fully functional game board, blending historical significance with practical use.
